Biography
Karen received her Associate degree in Nursing from Oakland Community College in 2006. She went on to earn her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Phoenix in 2009 while working in the Emergency Room at St. John Ascension, and later completed her Master of Science in Nursing in 2011. Over the next 12 years, Karen worked in home care and earned her Wound Ostomy Continence Nurse (WOCN) certification. In 2022, she completed her Post-Master’s certificate as a Family Nurse Practitioner, with a focus on Primary Care.
Karen is proud to be part of both Avalon Primary Care and Avalon Physician Services. At Avalon Primary Care, she provides in-person medical care in the office setting, while her work with Avalon Physician Services allows her to care for patients in their homes—an experience she finds incredibly rewarding.
In her free time, Karen enjoys quilting, spending time with friends and family, and doting on her two grandchildren. She and her husband Martin, a proud Veteran of 27 years in the Army and Air Force, share their home with two beloved dogs, Ellie Mae and Charlie. Karen has a special passion for caring for fellow Veterans and treasures the relationships she builds with patients and their families.
