Meet Karen Genter, NP: Ostomy Care Specialist
Ostomy care at Avalon is led by Karen Genter, MSN, APRN, FNP-BC, CWON—a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner and a Certified Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nurse with over 20 years of clinical experience. Karen has extensive training in ostomy management and is one of the few providers in our region offering specialty care for both adults and pediatric patients.
Karen provides personalized support for every stage of your ostomy journey, including:
- Post-operative care and education
- Skin care and complication prevention
- Pouching system troubleshooting
- Support for lifestyle adjustments
- Ongoing follow-up and maintenance care
Karen sees patients in our Novi office through Avalon Primary Care and also provides in-home care when appropriate through Avalon Physician Services.
